Luke, adopted from WARL nearly eight years ago and Jane, a recent WARL adoptee, are best buds who, could not only pass for twins, but mirror each other's mannerisms.

Saving the Baghdad Zoo -- a true story of hope and heroes

I'm conflicted when it comes to zoos. I do not believe that we should keep animals to be spectacles. However, with so many animals endangered, I realize that zoos can help certain species surviive. This is definitely a story of survival. Many, many interesting facts are packed into this book. Several heartbreaking stories detailing animal abuse and neglect are told. I held my breath when I read the book. The stories are gripping. In the end, can I say I felt happy that the zoo was rebuilt and is open in Baghdad today? No. Did Major Sumner and others do the right thing? Yes.
